Are You Actively Engaged with Your Blog and Social Media?

Are you actively engaged with your blog and social media? If you’re not, you need to be. Content is still king for the search engines, one way to keep that updated content flow is through your blog and social media. In order to maintain or boost your online presence, you need to put the work into constant updates.

Let’s break it down.

Blogging gives your site fresh content and keyword flow. Adding relevant content to your site on a weekly basis shows Google you are working hard to provide the information their searchers want. Show them that you know what you are talking about and have the products and/or services to back it.

By covering topics relevant to your business you are attesting to Google that you truly are an expert in the industry. You are proving yourself worthy of first-page search results. “Google processes 100 billion searches a month. That’s an average of 40,000 search queries every second.” What’s going to make you stand out from the others? A blog brings users to your site. More importantly, it brings opportunity for repeat visits, not just one and done clicks. Repeat visitors verify a reputable site which provides significant information that consumers find useful. If you let your site sit, it becomes stagnant in Googles eyes. You’ll quickly find yourself losing the rankings battle.

Social media is a social platform to help get the word out for your business. It allows followers to show their interest, share it with others and recommend your business based on your business profile alone! It provides you with an open communication platform to share insight into the heart of your business and what you are about. No matter your target audience from residential to commercial, consumer to business they can be found via social media. “71% of consumers are more likely to recommend a brand to others if they have a positive experience with it on social media. By optimizing your social profiles and by keeping them fresh with the right content, you create a stronger presence on the web. You get more exposure. And you have multiple channels to draw people towards your business.”

Over 40% of internet users will research a company on social media first. If your profile isn’t complete or active you will lose that potential business in a matter of seconds due to a negative first impression. Social media pulls in traffic from all demographics. When done correctly your social media pages should direct your followers’ interest back to your site. Provide enough information that sparks their interest in your social accounts. If the interest is strong enough they will follow through to your site in order to find out more. You want this pattern to repeat. The more click-throughs, the higher your referral rankings are. Google regularly monitors social activity as a boost to your SEO.
