Landing Pages to Improve your SEO

Consider utilizing Landing Pages to improve your SEO (Search Engine Optimization). As a business owner, we want what all businesses want, to be found by anyone in our target market. Increased awareness generates leads, leads can turn into engagement, and engagement can turn into a sale. Whether you offer a service or sell goods, if people don’t know you exist how can your business possibly survive?

When it comes to marketing, we’ve covered the topics stressing the importance of having a good website, maintaining your SEO via blogging, creating the right social media profiles, and linking it all together to organically optimize your online presence. This all makes Google happy. We need to make Google happy. Google has one goal in mind, to provide the best recommendations list to all the “searchers” out there trusting the resources presented to them. We have to continue to prove to Google that we are worthy of their recommendation.

And, yes, doing all of the above will help, and are necessary, but there’s more. If you find you’ve hit a road block regarding where to take your efforts next, it might be time to discuss landing pages. Landing pages can be a hidden gem underneath all your SEO efforts thus far. When done correctly, landing pages can help improve your web traffic by 20-30%. According to a HubSpot survey, companies with 30+ landing pages on their website generated 7X more leads than companies with 1 to 5 landing pages.

The key with landing pages is to create an engaging page that meets the requirements.

  1. Determine the focus of the page – After you’ve done the research for what your website needs in terms of “keyword focuses” that’s what you should base your landing pages on. What is the purpose for this page? Is it to target specific geographical locations? Is it to target a specific market looking for your goods and/or service?
  2. Creative Content – Once you’ve created a clear strategy for the purpose of the landing page(s) you need to create engaging content supporting that focus. Ensure your content has appropriate keywords throughout. Include Title Tags, Headers, Meta Description, SEO Title, and a good Permalink.
  3. Make it visually appealing – Along with having good, descriptive content that will pull your audience in and gain Google’s attention, your page needs to look good. Add attractive images that pull the viewers in, show your personality, add a short video if it backs the topic you are covering. Showcase a project you completed, add a featured product, anything that can break-up the content structure.
  4. Create Call to Actions – Give the landing page a purpose. It should direct traffic and lead them in the direction you desire to make the sale. Add backlinks (to your own content on the website as well as supporting links as references). Create an action button allowing them to “act now” by simply clicking, don’t make them work for it or you’ll lose their attention. You have 7 seconds to capture their attention, and that’s being generous.

If they’ve worked through the entire contents of your landing page, congrats! If done correctly, this should generate a lead, resulting to a follow-through that will build your online reputation. Let us help you determine the landing page path that’s right for you. There is a lot to consider when taking this step to improve your rankings. We can help get you there!
