How Branding Can Make Or Break Your Business

We talk a lot about visuals over here and why they’re such a big deal when it comes to marketing your business. With the over-saturation of brands we encounter, we want to discuss how branding can make or break your business. You have probably put a lot of thought into your business name if you started things yourself, or you’re part of an existing business that has been around for a while that has carried the name with them. Whatever the case, clients usually have a mental picture when they think of your brand.

Branding identity is a set of visual assets and words or feelings that describe your business as a whole. A branding package can encapsulate everything you stand for if it is created with intention and care. Whether we actively realize it or not, logos, colors, fonts and presentation evoke certain emotions from us as consumers.

Then comes the hard part, creating the logo. As most of us are not artists, we tend to rely on certain methods for creating a logo. Canva is a popular option most people turn to for a free/cheap logo they can customize. This comes with a few setbacks however. Canva logos can look generic and while they can be customized with your branding colors, they often lack that originality that a custom logo brings. These sorts of logos don’t make you stand out in a crowd and often exclaim, “Average Company.”

Investing in a branding package for your business can set you up for success in the best way. A good graphic designer can work with you to understand your company identity and clientele, and translate that into visuals that convey so much from first glance. Often this package includes a primary logo, possibly in multiple colorways, as well as a light (or reverse) logo for dark backgrounds. It could also include a vertical version of the logo, again, in multiple colors, as well as an icon or emblem. Graphic designers can also create visuals that work for social media profile pictures. We expect a color palette with the correlating color information to be included as well as a set of primary and secondary fonts that could work well with the logo.

As you can see, a branding package creates an entire identity blueprint for you to follow as you start promoting yourself online. It’s also helpful to share with anyone you may be working with so they can be sure to have the right assets to help you move forward. If you’re interested in a logo or branding package, we can help!
