eCommerce and The Holidays: A Perspective

eCommerce and The Holidays: A Perspective | Web Strategies

Guys and Gals, it’s time to get ready for the holidays. While there are several areas to cover, we’re gonna start with your options for e-commerce, because let’s face it: If your interface, or sales system is faulty, you’re going to lose out on money. “The most wonderful time of the year”, should also be you’re most profitable. Here, we’ll share some tips on updating/ optimizing your e-business to put you ahead of the curve for the holiday season.

No Webstore? No Problem! Add PayPal Buttons to directly to your website!

One of the easiest things you can do to get your sales up, is install Paypal Buttons to your website. Any website can, and (depending on your business/organization) should have Paypal buttons to handle your transactions whether it’s sales or donations at the very least. You might even be able to do it yourself…or you can get someone else to do it…Like us!

Consider re-vamping your site with the installation of an e-commerce suite

With WordPress, we can re-imagine your website, or add some new features to your existing site; Like an inventory system, or a shopping cart functionality. Joe Bloom, our Web Developer/ Account Manager, points out that there are specific WordPress themes designed for e-commerce, his personal favorite being Woo Commerce. With something from Woo Commerce, you can even add the ability to either Up-sell to your customer base or Cross-sell,( featuring a product that complements something they’re looking at purchasing or have purchased).

These options will get the e-commerce portion of your business up and running, but there is so much more to consider. Remember to calculate shipping, some suites will include a calculator function that does it for you, but if you just added Paypal buttons then you will need to figure out how much to charge and/or build it into the cost of the item.

By adding sales functionality to your website, you avoid fees of using online web stores, and you control your message. It is not dictated to you by someone else’s rules, you are responsible for how people will see your product. Take some time to review these options, and make the best, most informed decision you can. And when you’re ready, Web Strategies can help.
